On a related note i just noticed that Exim cannot access 
/etc/letsencrypt/(live|archive) when those get created as root because 
it drops permissions before trying to read the MAIN_TLS_CERTIFICATE and 
MAIN_TLS_PRIVATEKEY files. I used 0750 and group ssl-cert on those 
directories to give it read permission.
IMHO it would be great if dpkg could also supply this structure 
initially.
