The appstream metadata in general should definitely be handled upstream, but the modalias stuff is currently a Debian extention. If I got it right, it is draftet for inclusion into the official appstream spec, but isn't quite there yet. No idea how far away it is for inclusion upstream. -- Happy hacking Petter Reinholdtsen
