I had a discussion with Jonas Wagner (who is upstream and is copied to this

playitslowly to work with GTK 3 and gstreamer 1.0 . Thanks for that Jonas !

I didn't have anytime to test it so far. You can find Jonas public message here : https://github.com/jwagner/playitslowly/issues/7 and see that the
code has been updated here :
https://github.com/jwagner/playitslowly/commits/master

Cool.
I think the best way to get this fix in Debian is for him to do a new
release. Looking at the commits it seems to me that quite a few stuff
changed, so it's not really "including a patch" in the package.
Given that this removal won't happen in the next few days, I suggest
upstream to do his own testing, update the readme, when ready cut a release. While you're doing all of these updates, I'd suggest also moving to py3.

Once everything is ready I can NMU the new version, to avoid this
package being removed, but for sure I won't take the maintenance over.

I does looks like Jonas has followed your advices Mattia.

Everything sounds to be in a good shape for your NMU.

Cheers and merry Christmas,
Olivier
