Attempting to load a kernel later than 4.2.0.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

Reported the problem to the developer and linux-scsi mailing list, a patch
was created that worked but it has not been applied upstream even though I 
have confirmed that the patch works.
