Looks like the upstream reporter is also using the debian packages, so it may be debian-specific. This is likely to be a recent regression, maybe added in 1.8-rc1. Please test older packages, for example wine-development 1.7.55 from unstable or others from snapshots.debian.org. Best wishes, Mike
