Package: gnome-system-log Version: 3.9.90-4 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
Seems that gnome-system-log cannot track syslog (guess that the same happens with other logs) after log rotation happens. Last syslog line show in gnome-system-log is rsyslogd: [origin software="rsyslogd" swVersion="8.14.0" x-pid="2718" x-info="http://www.rsyslog.com"] rsyslogd was HUPed which is indeed last line in rotated /var/log/syslog.1. It stops showing new info after that, although there is new info in /var/log/syslog after the above line, which also appears as first line in new file. This may also be the reason for the problem reported as https://bugs.debian.org/754485 [Fails to stay up-to-date when left open for a few hours].
