severity 704303 serious thanks Hey,
Iceweasel's `/usr/share/doc/iceweasel/copyright' file says: | The complete text of the Mozilla Public License can be found in | the `MPL' file in the same directory as this file. the Debian Policy 2.3 is clear about the license text in d/copyright: "Every package must be accompanied by a verbatim copy of its copyright information and distribution license in the file /usr/share/doc/package/ copyright" and 12.5: "Packages distributed under the Apache license (version 2.0), the Artistic license, the GNU GPL (versions 1, 2, or 3), the GNU LGPL (versions 2, 2.1, or 3), and the GNU FDL (versions 1.2 or 1.3) should refer to the corresponding files under /usr/share/common-licenses,[119] rather than quoting them in the copyright file. " So not shipping the full text of the MPL inside d/copyright violates the debian policy 2.3 and 12.5 - a link to a local file is not enough. I discussed that in debian-devel and other had the same interpretation of the debian policy, too. So please copy the complete text of the MPL into d/copyright to fullfill the debian policy. Regards, sandro
