I have a little problem with my OSMC Client on my Raspberry Pi. I watch mkv-files which are shared by samba on my Debian 8 server. The files are 1280x720 H264, nothing special. My server is on jessie a longer while now, but due to boot problems I was still on kernel 3.2 ... Everything works fine as it should. Recently the boot problems are solved and I am now on kernel 3.16. Now I have problems watching the same MKV files on my Raspberry Pi. Often the picture freezes and it takes a few seconds (1-5) before the video continues. It looks like the data didn't come quickly enough for a continuous playback. Also skipping forward takes a little while, much longer as before. I tried to switch to the old 3.2 kernel, and that does the trick. The problems went away without any other changes. On a side note - I also had problems with netatalk 2.2 (debian package). There the solution was to mount the ext3 filesystem with option "noacl". So also this smaba-problem could have something to do with the way a filesystem is mounted?
