Hi Santiago, I am preparing an update of cloud-init that will correct the problem. Since we usually generate Stable images with a backport of cloud-init, I think that we do not need a stable update. You (and others) are much welcome prepare one if you think the contrary, but my experience with the Stable release team is that they are so overloaded that there are often multiple weeks of delay for getting answers from them, so I would not bother them with a non-critical issue.
