I forwarded the issue upstream but the extension is basically unmaintained since the upstream author no longer uses GNOME. I tried to identifiy a possible replacement, there's gnome-shell-pomodoro but it doesn't let you create arbitrary duration periods, you can only configure a single duration pomodoro. I should probably get this package dropped but I find it valuable from time to time. I don't know how to motivate someone to take over upstream maintainance.
