Package: sane Version: 1.0.14-9 Severity: important Since upgrade from Wheezy to Jessie, on a certain desktop system to which I had attached a scanner (Epson Perfection 1260), I am no longer able to use the scanner. When I start `xsane`, it hangs forever. Gimp also doesn't start, it hangs forever at the "Querying new Plug-ins / xsane" step. If I do `scanimage -L` as root, the command hangs, and `Ctrl-C` does not kill it.
If I unplug the Epson scanner and plug in a Canon LiDE 200 scanner, I get the `lsusb` output "Canon, Inc. CanoScan LiDE 200", but xsane etc. exhibit the same behavior of hanging.
