Hi, thanks, I finally found the problem. It was fairly obvious with your test case. The cause was that the scan_tree method would exclude a cache directory (hence, not visible in the "obnam ls" output), but would still scan through its contents (and, hence, Obnam would back up those files). I've pushed a fix, and a release is forthcoming. To recover from the problem, remove the generations made with Obnam 1.18 or 1.18.1. -- Schrödinger's backup hypothesis: the condition of any backup is undefined until a restore is attempted. -- andrewsh
