It definitely looks similar to https://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=79185
Unfortunately our way to "reproduce" the problem was to run in production for a day or so. We have quite a bit of logs that we captured during the troubleshooting. I don't know how much of it is still available. Anything that is, I'll be happy to forward. It is *a lot*, I can't paste it here. :)
