The genometools-common package hardcodes many library dependencies, which is going to be a problem if any of those libraries changes soname. In the case of libncurses5, this is going to happen after the Stretch release. The upstream changelog for version 1.5.2 mentions that the dependency on ncurses has been removed, so you probably want to remove both the dependency on libncurses5 in genometools-common and the libncurses5-dev build dependency.
