Actually I couldn't, that's why I filed the bug. Was using sawfish then, but have since switched to metacity. It seems that there is a close button on the window using metacity, but I have no idea if there will be with sawfish now. No idea what was causing the close button not to display, but whatever it was, it was a bug in *something*. Having to use keyboard shortcuts (can't even remember now whether I tried it let alone whether it worked) to access standard functionality is not acceptable behaviour from a GUI...
