I think the general issue with Bouncy is that the viewport is limited to 1024x768 pixel. This is https://bugs.debian.org/774505 Nowadays we use the DejaVu fonts instead of Bitstream Vera Sans, this might explain the difference. https://sources.debian.net/src/bouncy/0.6.20071104-4/debian/patches/use_dejavu_fonts.patch/ Bouncy uses font size 20 and on a default system without scaling it looks normal.
