It occurs to me that this entails abandoning the mythical equivalence of text and bytes <URL:https://stackoverflow.com/a/6163129/70157>, and instead deliberately choosing an encoding whenever reading or writing text. > Please ensure the calculation of text width for line wrapping takes > into account the defined width of each character.
