I'm the maintainer of the blogofile package for which python-textile is a dependency. While trying to package the current version of blogofile without python2 legacy, I found out that python-textile is not packaged for python3. Also, development seems to have moved to [1] which contains a new upstream version (2.2.2) and the commits mention python3 support in particular.
