Package: midori Version: 0.5.11-2.1 Severity: wishlist please consider building future versions of midori using gtk3; most important feature for me is finger scrolling that comes with it on touch devices.
i've modified the package locally; a working version can be obtained by the following changes (to build a gtk3 version only -- other distros seem to build both, is there actually need for that?): * add -DUSE_GTK3=1 to the dh_auto_configure options * use newer build dependencies: libwebkitgtk-dev -> libwebkitgtk-3.0-dev libgtk2.0-dev -> libgtk-3-dev libunique-dev -> libunique-3.0-dev (tbh, i just installed the relevant packages and built with -d). i'll be using that build for some more time and report gtk3 related problems here. i'm actively using several addons with no issues so far, but did not test browser plugins. an amd64 build for quick testing can be found on my personal archive at http://archive.amsuess.com/pool/main/m/midori/ . -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.2.0-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init) Versions of packages midori depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 2.18.0-1 ii libc6 2.19-22 ii libcairo-gobject2 1.14.2-2 ii libcairo2 1.14.2-2 ii libgck-1-0 3.16.0-1 ii libgcr-base-3-1 3.16.0-1 ii libgcr-ui-3-1 3.16.0-1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.32.0-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.46.0-2 ii libgtk-3-0 3.18.0-3 ii libjavascriptcoregtk-3.0-0 2.4.9-2+b1 ii libp11-kit0 0.23.1-3 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.38.0-3 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.38.0-3 ii libsoup-gnome2.4-1 2.52.0-1 ii libsoup2.4-1 2.52.0-1 ii libsqlite3-0 3.8.11.1-1 ii libwebkitgtk-3.0-0 2.4.9-2+b1 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.3-1 ii libxml2 2.9.2+zdfsg1-4 ii libxss1 1:1.2.2-1 ii libzeitgeist-2.0-0 0.9.14-2.2+b1 Versions of packages midori recommends: ii gnome-icon-theme 3.12.0-1 midori suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To use raw power is to make yourself infinitely vulnerable to greater powers. -- Bene Gesserit axiom
