That's there because, while it builds and mostly works with 3.6, this at least used to sometimes hit a bug: http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/Beignet/ As I do not have code to reproduce this (http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/beignet/2015-April/005592.html), I don't know if this is still the case; I'll ask upstream.
Are you planning to remove 3.5 now, or only switch the default?
