To be fair, I looked into libthai and libdatrie when I first proposed the patches for the switch from DirectFB to X.org back in early 2010. It seemed Thai support was OK without those, so we decided to skip them. I'm not sure it's worth adding them now. I'm with Theppitak Karoonboonyanan on this: if support in d-i is sufficient for people to actually install Debian without that, maybe we can keep the current situation as it is. Mraw, KiBi.
