Package: tar Version: 1.27.1-2+b1 Severity: normal Tags: patch Control: notfound -1 1.26+dfsg-0.1
Tar 1.27 and 1.28 don't extract the contents of directories specified with --files-from. This breaks AMANDA's amrecover utility (amanda-client package), making it unable to extract anything but empty directories and individual files from GNUTAR archives on wheezy. The problem is discussed in detail at https://forums.zmanda.com/showthread.php?5461-Amrecover-is-not-restoring-directories-recursively/page2 There's a patch at http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-tar/2014-09/msg00009.html -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.2 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages tar depends on: ii libacl1 2.2.52-2 ii libc6 2.19-18+deb8u1 ii libselinux1 2.3-2 tar recommends no packages.
