Hello, Same issue here. Seems to be related to the following xsession-errors message:
(synaptic:9795): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_dir_read_name: assertion 'dir != NULL' failed
(synaptic:9795): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_dir_close: assertion 'dir != NULL' failed
Logfiles in /root/.synaptic are normally build, so the 'history' is there. Perhaps related to libvte-2.90-9? I think that this bug started after the recent transition to gcc5 in Debian. btw, rebuilding synaptic didn't help. Regards, Henk.
