Thanks for your initial patch, It fixes the FTBFS. But I think, the symbols visibility may be different with clang, even though the clang is supporting visibility attribute. Therefore, I have prepared the full patch [1] apply to libmnl git master branch. If upstream agree with this approach then I will backport this patch to Debian.
