Just upgraded to jessie and had problems with xsane "copy" mode. I found the following: Checking the checkbox for: "Create zlib compressed postscript image (PS level 3) for printing" in the "Copy" settings does not seem to result in a compressed file. Perhaps I'm just not understanding what is supposed to be produced. I tested by creating a script that does "cat - > /tmp/foo" and using my script as a print command. The resulting file begins with the lines: %!PS-Adobe-3.0 %%Creator: XSane version 0.996 (sane 1.0) - by Oliver Rauch These are clearly not zlib compressed.
