Hi Manuel, I cannot reproduce this any more, and concur with your conclusion to close it.
Btw, when I tried to reproduce it I added this file to .aptitude/config (forgetting the ;): aptitude::UI::Minibuf-Prompts "true" which gave me the error: E: Syntax error /home/allan/.aptitude/config:6: Extra junk at end of file E: Syntax error /home/allan/.aptitude/config:6: Extra junk at end of file [Ok] The error message should probably not be duplicated. Aptitude subsequently overwrite the configuration with what it could parse which means I lost my configuration.
