Long time no see with this bug. I reported it to upstream in [1], but upstream needs a proper test case as well. Do you still see this problem with 8.1? If so, is your database small enough to tar up /var/lib/postgres and put it somewhere upstream and/or I can get it to reproduce the problem? Thank you!
