thanks for the report!

It is a bit weird. There used to be support in haskell-devscripts for
removing that:

    - Remove LICENSE files installed by Cabal and empty documentation
      directories.

(changelog entry from 2008, version 0.6.4), which should take care of
it. But I don’t find any trace of it in the current code, nor anywhere
where it was removed...

Anyways, haskell-devscripts is the right place to fix this. Any
volunteers?
