Subject: kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686: USB driver ehci_hcd fails to enter ACPI S3 state on IBM Thinkpad T40 Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686 Version: 2.6.8-16sarge1 Severity: normal
*** Please type your report below this line *** When running ACPI, attempting to enter S3 sleep state is not successful presumably because of the USB driver and the laptop immediately goes back to normal operation. When the ehci_hcd module is not present, system enters sleep state with no issues but USB2.0 is not available. System will also wake up with no issues. S3 state is entered by "echo 3 > /proc/acpi/sleep" Kernel messages: PM: Preparing system for suspend Stopping tasks: =====================================================| PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:00:1d.7 to 64 Could not suspend device 0000:00:1d.7: error -5 PCI device entry: 0000:00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82801DB/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-M) USB 2.0 EHCI Controller (rev 01) (prog-if 20 [EHCI]) Subsystem: IBM: Unknown device 052e Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 11 Memory at c0000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1K] Capabilities: [50] Power Management version 2 Capabilities: [58] #0a [2080] BIOS versions: 1RETDNWW (3.19), embedded controller 1RHT66WW-3.00a -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-2-686 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686 depends on: ii coreutils [fileutils] 5.2.1-2 The GNU core utilities ii initrd-tools 0.1.81.1 tools to create initrd image for p ii module-init-tools 3.2-pre1-2 tools for managing Linux kernel mo -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
