I have a laptop with an external monitor connected by displayport. My desktop is extended onto this external monitor but I still use the laptop display as my primary monitor. If I close the laptop lid, the KDE panel and application windows all move to the external monitor. When I open the lid again, the panel moves back to the laptop display, but the application windows stay on the external monitor. I have tried setting "do nothing" in the power settings option for closing the laptop lid, and I have disabled power button handling entirely, and neither made any change.
