thank you for the explanation. Indeed I was not aware that this behaviour is a general "feature" of GNUstep. In this case we can close this bug. I will not file a bug agains (nor discuss) it with GNUstep folks since my knowledge of GNUstep is void and I am not planning to familiarize with it further :-) bye Oliver
