I'm very aware of the ongoing GCC 5 transitions, as I'm handling the transitions for almost all of the Debian GIS packages. I'll push your merkaartor packaging to the new repo on Alioth and update it for the new upstream development on GitHub. The first uploads will ofcourse be to experimental first, we can use those builds to triage all the outstanding issues. I suspect many of them will already be resolved in the new upstream releases.
