The affected function CheckSecs() checks for NULL pointer and prints an error message, but did not return with an error code.
Fixed in CVS on sf.net.
(I'm the current upstream maintainer on sf.net and I found this bug report accidentally. If you want to get a bug fixed, forwarding bug reports to the bug tracker on sf.net would be a good idea.)
