For me the problem is https://github.com/bbidulock/icewm/issues/20 , it looks similar to https://github.com/bbidulock/icewm/issues/37 but I don't know if they are the same problem. As I have commented there is a new option in the preferences file of the icewm (that option appears with the update from version 1.3.8-2 to version 1.3.8+githubmod+20150310+31bfd46-2): # Activate workaround for Java7 Swing/AWT focus issue # ActivateJava7FocusHack=1 # 0/1 That option is enabled (1) by default, setting it to 0 fixes the issue for me and it seems that someone in upstream has changed the value of that option to 0 by default and closed the bug.
