This package is useless for any text not in ISO-8859-1 -- considering its language, it's thus not really useful for anyone. The last upload was in 2005, and as a native package it has no upstream. With no maintainer, it's effectively dead. You might also want to RM acheck and acheck-rules, they share the deadness (although their main functionality at least works due to no UTF-8 needed for English).
