It is caused by a change introduced in dpkg 1.18.0, which now lets "dpkg-buildpackage -S" fail if build-dependencies are missing. It can be fixed by the little patch against pdebuild provided by henrich in #786690. I am raising the severity of this bug, because without this fix pbuilder and thus "gbp buildpackage --git-pbuilder" cannot be used as intended anymore. Cheers, Fabian
