Hey. I just noted that this has been finally packaged for Debian :-) ... but in non-free. At least the website http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~simardr/testu01/copyright.html which seems to be from 2009-08-18 that the license has actually been changed to GPL3+. The COPYING file in the tarball which still shows a non-free license is from an older date. So maybe they just forgot to update it?! I'll do another round of querying the original developers, maybe the could update the tarball.
