Package: mysql-server-5.5 Version: 5.5.44-0+deb8u1 Severity: important Tags: newcomer
In the default configuration that ships with MySQL Server for amd64 architecture the wrong thread_stack size is configured. Per MySQL documentation the default thread_stack size for _32-bit_ architectures should be 192KB. MySQL recommends 256KB for the default size on 64-bit architectures. We have several 64-bit MySQL servers that have encountered thread stack overruns in production because of the incorrect default thread_stack size is set in the default configuration. Stable, oldstable, strech and sid are impacted by this. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.1 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable'), (100, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages mysql-server-5.5 depends on: ii adduser 3.113+nmu3 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.56 ii initscripts 2.88dsf-59 ii libc6 2.19-18 ii libdbi-perl 1.631-3+b1 ii libgcc1 1:4.9.2-10 ii libstdc++6 4.9.2-10 ii lsb-base 4.1+Debian13+nmu1 ii mysql-client-5.5 5.5.44-0+deb8u1 ii mysql-common 5.5.44-0+deb8u1 ii mysql-server-core-5.5 5.5.44-0+deb8u1 ii passwd 1:4.2-3 ii perl 5.20.2-3+deb8u1 ii psmisc 22.21-2 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-2+b1 Versions of packages mysql-server-5.5 recommends: ii libhtml-template-perl 2.95-1 Versions of packages mysql-server-5.5 suggests: ii bsd-mailx [mailx] 8.1.2-0.20141216cvs-2 ii heirloom-mailx [mailx] 12.5-4 ii tinyca 0.7.5-5 -- debconf information excluded
