Package: libxm4 Version: 2.3.4-5 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation? A mutual customer installed ClearCase on an ubuntu 14.04 LTS host, and attempted to merge a file. The application terminated with this error: undefined symbol XmRedisplayWidget. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Verified that libXm.so.4.0.4 doesn't export the symbol. Noticed that this does not happen on Red Hat and checked to find that RHEL distributes an older libmotif3 and libmotif4. Inserted that libXm.so.3.0.2, and the error went away. Manually installing the libmotif3 2.2.3-4 package also resolves the issue Checked the 2.3.4-1 packages at http://motif.ics.com/motif/downloads, and that version of libXm.so.4 exports the needed symbol. This symbol is still defined in the man pages for libmotif4, so it is odd that it is no longer available. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers trusty-updates APT policy: (500, 'trusty-updates'), (500, 'trusty-security'), (500, 'trusty'), (100, 'trusty-backports') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.13.0-24-generic (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libxm4 depends on: ii libc6 2.19-0ubuntu6.6 ii libfontconfig1 2.11.0-0ubuntu4.1 ii libjpeg8 8c-2ubuntu8 ii libmotif-common 2.3.4-5 ii libpng12-0 1.2.50-1ubuntu2 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.2-1ubuntu2 ii libxext6 2:1.3.2-1ubuntu0.0.14.04.1 ii libxft2 2.3.1-2 ii libxmu6 2:1.1.1-1 ii libxt6 1:1.1.4-1 ii multiarch-support 2.19-0ubuntu6 ii x11-common 1:7.7+1ubuntu8 libxm4 recommends no packages. libxm4 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
