Package: procps Version: 2:3.3.9-9 Severity: normal Tags: upstream Hi,
The ps command doesn't sort correctly when I use the "etimes" specifier, but it works well with "etime" (without the "s" at the end). For instances, with "k -etimes" and "k +etimes", I have the same order: root@jessie:~# ps o 'etimes,pid' k -etimes ELAPSED PID 23669 403 23669 404 23669 405 23669 406 23669 407 23639 506 15396 617 9408 652 1124 11517 482 11565 482 11566 467 11590 242 11593 0 11625 root@jessie:~# ps o 'etimes,pid' k +etimes ELAPSED PID 23673 403 23673 404 23673 405 23673 406 23673 407 23643 506 15400 617 9412 652 1128 11517 486 11565 486 11566 471 11590 246 11593 0 11626 But with "k -etime" and "k +etime" (without the "s" at the end), it works well: root@jessie:~# ps o 'etimes,pid' k -etime ELAPSED PID 23921 403 23921 404 23921 405 23921 406 23921 407 23891 506 15648 617 9660 652 1376 11517 734 11565 734 11566 719 11590 494 11593 0 11635 root@jessie:~# ps o 'etimes,pid' k +etime ELAPSED PID 0 11636 505 11593 730 11590 745 11565 745 11566 1387 11517 9671 652 15659 617 23902 506 23932 403 23932 404 23932 405 23932 406 23932 407 Remark: I have exactly the same problem with ps in Debian Wheezy (ie with procps version 3.3.3).
