Well, I switched to "X Input Method", also for other bugs of, or
linked to, Cedilla, so I wouldn't naturally encounter the bug
anymore.

I tried to reproduce now, but switching back to Cedilla (*locally* in
*one* xfce4-terminal window, not the whole session) I couldn't. This
might mean it is fixed, but also that:

 1) It happens only when Cedilla is the default (no GTK_IM_MODULE
    envvar set), for the whole session

 2) It happens with Gnome Terminal, but not with xfce4-terminal

 3) Some other difference in how my setup has changed in three years
    make a difference.
