Chipcardd2 will, in the default configuration shipped by Debian, generate output via the syslog facility, usually found in daemon.log. Here is the deal: With decent, supported USB-card readers chipcardd2 should work out of the box without configuration. If it doesn't, there is a bug, but the bug can only be diagnosed with information about the autodetection process, not about some command line not working.
