The french translation to the graphical startup authentication dialog is currently missing in /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/com.ubuntu.pkexec.synaptic.policy. The string is really short and already translated to many languages, so it should not be difficult to add the french one.
To have the best translation, you can contact debian-l10n-fre...@lists.debian.org.
My own suggestion would be: "Vous devez vous authentifier pour utiliser le gestionnaire de paquets Synaptic"
