printtool exposes a strange inability to select specific printers.
While most that I try go through, HP DeskJet 840/842 dies with

(I know that printtool is an 'old' tool; but still my preferred one:
There is no alternative to it.
There was a reasonable development done by lprng, but this also has
disappeared from the packages.
cups is completely overdone and bloat. And, in most cases, works worse
for me than printtool.)
