Package: ejabberd Version: 15.03-1 Severity: normal
Hi. I just wondered why ejabberdctl.cfg is moved to /etc/default/ejabberd (even though there is a symlink). As per Debian policy (https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-opersys.html#s-writing-init) /etc/default is meant for configuration of init-scripts,... I've also seen it being used as configuration place for cron scripts shipped by packages. But in ejabber'ds case it doesn't seem to be directly used by the init script, but only indirectly via ejabberdctl, which is however upstream's native tool for that task. So in other words, is it really appropriate to have the config file of ejabberdctl moved from it's canonical location/name to /etc/default/ejabberd (where it's no longer really clear that this is ejabberdctl's config file)?
