This is handled in this patch: http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/autopkgtest/autopkgtest.git/commit/?id=302d85e5 So in summary I believe this should now be good. "./run-from-checkout gem2deb_0.18.3.dsc" builds and tests fine. Thanks, and sorry for the delay!
