Hi, We already had a few words on IRC with Thiago, but let me write some ideas down before I forget.

That is very welcome, thank you for working on that! > Please consider applying it to the Debian package. Sure, but IMHO, adding this feature to the version 7 is not worth it: we intend to maintain (and especially backport security fixes on) owncloud 7 because that is the version shipped in Jessie, but the packaging for owncloud 8.1 is ready for quite some time already (not pushed yet to experimental since some dependencies are being processed in NEW). > If you are OK with carrying this patch while the upstream community > discusses it, Yes, I do hope this feature will make it upstream, but would be happy to consider it for Stretch no matter what. If you can rebase your patch on the current stable8 branch of our repository, that would be nice. > I can also update the documentation with a simple tutorial on how to do > this. Thank you for your proposal. Hopefully, a short (entry in the current) README will be enough (i.e., there won’t be too much work for administrators to set up multiple instances). > with this patch, I managed three instances of owncloud, also I wrote a > cookbook that makes instalation and configurations that are required. That looks nice, I hope I’ll be able to follow you up on that (maybe during a face to face if you’ll be in DebCamp or DebConf). Regards David
