There's been no upstream work on wv2 for ages - last SVN commit was 2009:

We've also had no rdeps in Debian for some time, and it's a library so
not useful in isolation - the only potential users are of unpackaged
code (I originally adopted it as I was looking to use it in client
project, but they're using libreofficekit instead).  Looking at popcon
there are 28 installs of the runtime and 10 of the -dev package, and
the trend is a steady decline:

I was already thinking I should request removal before stretch, so let's
just drop it now and have one fewer library to worry about for this
transition.
