I am just updating the status of this bug (bit late I know!). goocanvas has been orphaned by the MIA team: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=766612 It has been decided to rename the latest goocanvas (2.0.2) source package to goocanvas-2.0 because both the old and new can live together side by side, and it avoids an urgent transition. This has actually already happened in Ubuntu.
