Package: wireless-tools
Version: 27+28pre11-1
Severity: normal

If I do

$iwlist ath0 scan
Warning: Driver for device ath0 has been compiled with version 19
of Wireless Extension, while this program supports up to version 18.
Some things may be broken...

Segmentation fault

Once this segmentation fault happens the system becomes crazy for example,
a. I cannot unmount /home partition after I execute the above command
b. Any command starting with sudo just hangs there. The system is still
responsive in the sense that I can open a konsole window or edit a file in gvim
etc.,

I am using unstable

The above is my wireless card information. I am using madwifi drivers available
from madwifi-source package. I do not know whether the segmentation fault (from
iwlist scanning) is a problem with madwifi-source or wireless-tools. Initially I
asked on debian-user (http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2005/12/msg02172.html)
about this and have not received any response (as of filing this bug).

thanks
